Coordinator of Marketing
Brooke has had a passion for sports since the age of five when she started playing youth soccer. From children’s rec to high school athletics to college intramural sports, her love for the community and competition aspect of sport only grew. Alongside sports, Brooke learned she also had a passion for art when she realized it wasn’t all finger painting and still life drawing. Playing around on high school projects, she discovered a love for digital art that brought her to graduate from East Carolina University in 2018 with a degree in Graphic Design.
Inspired by working as a marketing student in ECU’s Campus Recreation & Wellness department, Brooke found the perfect combination of creativity, strategy, and play in her current role as Coordinator of Marketing for Duke Recreation & Physical Education, where she oversees communication and marketing efforts. She takes pride in creating a “central hub” that ties the department’s work together to provide the Duke Community with a chance to take a break, connect, and be active.
While continuing her work at Duke, she also continued her desire to learn and grow by completing her Master’s in Strategic Communication from the University of Iowa in 2022. Overall, Brooke understands and appreciates the importance of having a united voice, maintaining a brand, and communicating effectively, while also cultivating an environment of creativity and fun.
