Duke Recreation members, both students and non-students, are eligible to take part in a wide variety of fitness activities. Free group fitness classes and fitness counseling are available at previously scheduled times, *as well as free fitness assessments for students, while pay for services such as Personal Training, Pilates, Small Group Programs, and Private Group Fitness Classes are available upon request. Our services are provided to enhance individuals’ fitness knowledge, skills, and awareness of the health benefits of exercise, while helping to monitor progress and promote realistic fitness and body image goals.
Additionally, Student Affairs offers a few health and fitness-related programs that may complement your fitness program, including physical therapy and nutrition counseling. The link to student health services can be found under our Fitness FAQ section.

We offer over 60 free group fitness classes per week to meet your fitness needs, available at both Wilson and Brodie Recreation Centers! Our classes include a mix of cardio, strength and flexibility. All levels are welcome in group fitness classes. Join in on the fun! All classes are free for Recreation members.
Duke personal training will provide you with the knowledge, skills and encouragement you need to achieve your health and fitness goals. Our quality trainers offer support and guidance at very competitive rates. We also offer Private Pilates Personal Training. All levels are welcome from novice to experienced athletes.
Duke Rec offers several Small Group Training programs to the University community. These programs provide a unique experience with specialized equipment and individualized attention by a certified Personal Trainer or Group Fitness Instructor. Register in advance for these programs, as space is limited!
Duke Fitness offers a variety of special events throughout the year including a Powerlifting Competition, Mock NFL Combine and End of the Year Blowout Workouts!
Pilates is a total body workout program which offers a unique challenge to your strength and flexibility. Your certified Pilates Instructor will help you maintain good form and proper posture throughout the movement for the most effective training session. Pilates Training is only available at Brodie Recreation Center.
