Description

The Taishoff Aquatics Pavilion features an 8-lane, 25-yard competition pool and 17ft Dive Well boasting two 1-meter and 3-meter boards and a 5m, 7m, and 10m dive platform. Taishoff is 4.6ft each end and dips to 7ft in the middle. This pool is primarily used for fitness and competition for our members and student-athletes.

  • All pools are ADA accessible and have kick boards, swim belts, pull buoys, and fins available at the pool deck.

Policies

Taishoff Aquatics Pavilion Entry Procedures

There will be 16 spots available and the pool will be open on a first come first serve basis in order to recognize social distancing practices, cleaning procedures, and the safety and wellbeing of all staff and patrons.

  • Entrance to the Aquatics Facility has been moved to the Taishoff Aquatics Pavilion Hall of Fame Entrance. To access the building you will need to take the hill between the Wilson Recreation Center and Cameron Indoor Stadium to the Hall of Fame Entrance.
  • All patrons visiting the Taishoff Aquatics Pavilion must provide a Duke Issued ID.
  • All patrons visiting the Taishoff Aquatics Pavilion must provide proof they have completed their daily symptom monitoring and received a pass to be on campus.
  • All patrons visiting the Taishoff Aquatics Pavilion must sign a waiver before entrance will be allowed.
  • All patrons are required to wear a mask or proper face covering in the facility up until they enter the water. All patrons will also agree to put their mask or face covering back on after they exit the facility.
  • There is no access to the locker rooms, however there is bathroom access as needed.
  • Due to COVID-19 policies and procedures Duke Recreation: Aquatics will not provide any equipment (ex. Kickboards, pull buoys, etc.) however you are welcome to bring your own.

PLEASE NOTE: Taishoff will close when lightning is 10 miles from the facility.

Facility Access Reservation (FAR) System 

FAR will set a limited number of participants to enter the facility for 60 minutes. Each FAR will end at the 60 minute mark regardless the time when the participant actually entered the facility.

  • Reservations for each hour slot will be visible on MyRec two (2) weeks in advance, noting the maximum amount of spaces available.
  • Reservations for each hour slot will open on MyRec 48 hours in advance, noting the maximum amount of spaces available. Members will be able to register and reserve their time slot during this period.
  • Reservations for each hour slot will close on MyRec 10 minutes past the reservation start time.
  • All members must complete a daily REDCap symptom check through the Duke REDCap App, as well as submit a Facility Access Reservation in order to enter Wilson or Taishoff, as noted above, through the MyRecWeb Portal:
    1. Log in with their Duke NetID and Password through Shibboleth.
    2. Click on the desired “Wilson Access Reservation” or “Taishoff Pool Access Reservation” icon.
    3. Select the appropriate day you want to reserve (within 48 hours).
    4. Select the appropriate time.
    5. Click the “Register” button.
    6. Follow the prompts (Family Member Registration, Social Distancing Acknowledgement, Facility Time Restriction Acknowledgement, etc.) either as prompts or waivers (to be determined).
    7. Receive email receive of registration.
  • Members will be asked to be outside the entrance (following physical distancing) until their reservation time.
  • Members will be able to cancel reservations by visiting MyRec Web Portal (only), clicking on their Profile, then Program Registrations.

Taishoff Aquatics Pavilion COVID-19 Policies & Procedures

  • Members are responsible for showing up or cancelling their scheduled appointment within 2 hours of their reserved time.
  • All patrons visiting the Taishoff Aquatics Pavilion must provide proof they have completed their daily symptom monitoring through REDCap and received a pass to be on campus.
  • All patrons are required to wear a mask or proper face covering in the facility up until they enter the water. All patrons will also agree to put their mask or face covering back on after they exit the facility.
