Description

The Brodie Center is located on East Campus. The facility opened in 1996 as an addition to Memorial Gym that was opened in 1922-23. The majority of infrastructure is in the pre-existing structure. Brodie measures at 50,000 square feet and offers 4 basketball-volleyball wood floor courts, a classroom, weight room 2 racquetball courts and a multi-purpose room with mirrors that is used for group fitness classes, physical education classes and dance groups. The center also houses administrative offices for Aquatics, Facilities, Intramural Sports, and Physical Education.

East Campus Tennis Courts Policies

  • Tennis Courts are for Duke Community use only.
  • Bikes, rollerblades, skates, and skateboards are prohibited on the courts.
  • If nets are lowered for pickleball, they must be raised back to a 36” height for tennis.
  • Attaching straps or bungee cords to the braided part of the net is prohibited.
  • Private or group lessons are prohibited.
  • University Recreation and Physical Education programs receive schedule priority.
  • Alcohol and tobacco are prohibited on the courts.
  • Do not litter.
  • Duke Recreation and Physical Education is committed to fostering a safe, inclusive environment. Racism, discrimination, or harassment of any kind will not be tolerated.

Parking

Parking gates for East Gated Lots have been renovated and permits are required for entry and exit. You may park off-campus without a permit on Broad and Markham Streets. For details, maps and information, visit our Parking Information page.
