Women's locker rooms in the Brodie Recreation Center will be closed between 3:15pm-3:45pm from Friday, 9/21 through Tuesday, 9/25.
Our Aquatics program is home to two indoor pools and one seasonal outdoor pool. The program also offers swim lessons year-round for swimmers of all levels and ages in addition to health and safety courses, such as lifeguarding and first aid and CPR/AED classes. In addition, we offer free weekly swim instruction with our free Swim for Fitness Programs and our Masters Swim Program.
We are proud to offer both group and private swim lessons for participants of all ages and experience levels. The American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim Program provides instruction to help swimmers of all ages and abilities develop their swimming and water safety skills. It is designed to give students a positive learning experience. Learn-to-Swim teaches aquatic and safety skills in a logical progression.
Family swim is a special time for swimmers of all ages to join their parents in the pool at Brodie. Every Saturday from 3:00–5:00 pm at Brodie Pool, we welcome infants to teenagers who are accompanied by their guardian who is a Duke Recreation member. More info
From non-swimmers with a fear of the water to competitive athletes looking to become more efficient, we have swim instructors suited for your needs. We offer private swim lessons for those seeking individual 1-1 attention. Our semi-private lessons are a cost-effective way to learn how to swim. Up to five adults or three children may participate. Semi-private lessons are for friends and family that want to take lessons together
