2017-2018 Membership Rates

The Department of Recreation and Physical Education offers affordable membership opportunities to the Duke University community. Rec & PE Memberships include access to both Wilson Recreation Center and Brodie Recreation Center, as well as access to programs such as personal training, free group fitness classes, and free fitness orientations at Wilson Recreation Center and Brodie Recreation Center.

Student Rates

Includes Undergraduates*, Graduate/Professional Students**, and Student Spouses

  • Individual Membership - $287
  • Family Membership - $551 (2 adults and up to 2 children ages 10-26)
  • Each additional child - $155
  • Per visit rate - $5 (FLEX)

*Undergraduate students’ recreation fees are paid through the student’s bursar account per semester. These students are not required to register for a membership as long as they are registered for class in the respective semester.
**Graduate/Professional Student memberships have several payment methods. Check with your financial aid advisor if you have questions about the payment of your membership.

Affiliated Member Rates

Includes Faculty, Staff, Visiting Scholars, Retirees, and Alumni***

  • Individual Membership - $287
  • Family Membership - $551 (2 adults and up to 2 children ages 10-26). Not available for Visiting Scholars and Retirees.
  • Each additional child - $155
  • Per visit rate - $10 (using FLEX****)

*** Alumni can access Brodie Recreation Center and Wilson Recreation Center using their Alumni Card found on the Alumni Association app.
****FLEX OPTION: FLEX can be loaded onto DukeCards by visiting one of the Self-Service Locations around campus.

Rates Per Semester:
  • Fall 2017: August 7 – December 31, 2017 - $100
  • Spring 2018: January 1 – May 6, 2018 -  $100
  • Summer 2018: May 7 – August 5, 2018 - $100
Rates Per Month
  • Undergraduate (Summer Only) - $30
  • Graduate/Professional Students - $30
  • Graduate Spouse - $30
  • Staff - $30
  • Faculty - $30
Summer Camps & Conferences
  • Individual: $70

Camp and conference cards must be activated to access all Recreation facilities.

Family Plan Enrollment Update

If you are sponsoring a spouse or child for a recreation center membership or card: Spouses and children must be sponsored through the OIT Guest Tool in order for cards and memberships to be renewed. Visit https://idms.oit.duke.edu/affiliates/sponsor and follow instructions carefully to begin the sponsorship process prior to enrolling in a Family Membership at the DukeCard office.”

Duke University Employee Appreciation

HAPPY BIRTHDAY! We want to celebrate you by offering a Birthday Pass for 3 complimentary visits to both Brodie Recreation Center and Wilson Recreation Center during the month of your birthday!

  • Request your Birthday Pass by emailing recmemberships@duke.edu.
  • You must have a valid DukeCard to participate and present it when picking up Birthday Pass.
  • You must be an employee at Duke University to take advantage of this promotion.
  • Current Duke Rec & PE Members are ineligible for this promotion. 

Parking

Payment

Payment Methods: Cash, Debit, Check, FLEX and Payroll Deduction are currently available.

  • All parties interested in being a member of Duke Recreation must sign a release form in person at the time of signup. To sign up or renew a membership, please sign up on-line at  www.dukecard.duke.edu or visit the DukeCard Office at 012 Telecom Building.
